It is one of the largest navigable networks in Europe.

In Germany, inland navigation is possible in 2 regions: Brandenburg and Mecklenburg.
The Brandenburg region is top of the first ten ecological zones in Germany.

Navigating in the Brandenburg region is also an excellent opportunity to visit Berlin but a sailing permit is required to navigate in that region and through Berlin.
The region of Mecklenburg is an important natural reserve. You can navigate in a Pénichette®. A permit is not required to navigate in that region.
