Starting from Redon on board your Pénichette, you will be at the crossroads of Brittany canals. Redon is the gateway to the country of Merlin the Wizard and the Fairy Viviane. You will be able to appreciate the Magpies Island, a splendid setting, conducive to daydreaming. Next, La Gacilly with its mossy paths and eel-filled marshes so beautiful in the morning mist. Further on stands the magnificent Josselin castle which reflects its majestic towers in the canal water. The Canal de Nantes à Brest is definitely one of the most beautiful canals. From Redon to Nantes, navigation is particularly bucolic and you will follow the Erdre valley through the Gâvre forest componed of secular trees which remind of the ancient Celtic forest of King Arthur.
Inland Brittany with its lights, its villages of granite and slate, its blue hydrangeas, has always been a source of inspiration for painters. The itinerary to Rennes criss-crosses Brittany countrysides almost without locks. It will allow you to discover a regional capital rich in history and in monuments.
